Let’s Simplafai

How to improve the world's most widely spoken language

A Logical Improvement

A Lodjacal Improovment

English spelling is a mess:
cone/done
cost/most
daughter/laughter
There are many, many other examples I could give to demonstrate
just how illogical and confusing the way we write the world's
most widely spoken language is.
Wouldn't it be great if we wrote English in a much more logical,
consistent way?
In my forthcoming book Let's Simplify English Spelling, I show that
not only can we simplify English spelling in all countries where
English is spoken relatively quickly, but we can do this at virtually
no cost or inconvenience to anyone.

Ingglish spelling iz a mess:
cone/done
cost/most
daughter/laughter
Dheer ar menny, menny udher igzaampalz I coed givv to demmenstreit
just how ilodjacal and kenfeuzing dhe way we rait dhe wurld'z

Woeddenn't it be greit if we roat Ingglish in a much mor lodjacal,
kensistent way?
In my forthcumming boek Let's Simplafai Ingglish Spelling, I sho dhat

About my work

Over the past 20 years I've studied various foreign languages such as French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Swahili, Russian and many others.
Most languages are written in a broadly logical, consistent way. This makes them relatively easy to learn, certainly when compared to English with its long list of exceptions to 'rules' and its multitude of old-fashioned spellings which no longer reflect our pronunciation.
The pandemic gave me the time to write my forthcoming book Let's Simplify English Spelling in which I explore topics such as what a logical spelling system for English might look like, how it could be implemented and what the (dis)advantages of simplifying English spelling might be.
Over the centuries several proposals for simplifying English spelling have been put forward - might now be the time a simpler spelling system for English becomes a reality?
